Maybe you noticed lately that you suddenly got some clips that you had not before.

This is because the limit of the kclicks and kcies needed to clip a domain has been lowered.

We noticed that clipping a domain should be as easy as clipping a URL: this is, referring as much people as you can getting kclicks.

This has much more sense when you start using the chrome plugin; because you will see both clippers as you browse the page.

So, please, enjoy and have fun clipping more domains!

One of the main features we wanted to make true is finally available. Karmacracy gets connected with Twitter and Facebook (and more, soon).

Why was this feature needed? Several reasons explain this:

Simple login

Forget about different passwords. Karmacracy’s goal is achieved sharing a link in social networks, so, who hasn’t a network account? Aren’t you already logged in one of these? Now, you can login into karmacracy with your twitter or facebook account.

First time you’ll log in through web, it will ask you to answer if you have been previously in karmacracy or not. If you have, then enter your username and password. If you have not, then just enter a valid email and a global username. Both ways will connect your karmacracy account with a social network account; so next time, you won’t need anything else. Simple, isn’t it?

Simplicity is one of the basics of this project, and this is why we introduced this kind of login.

Better integration

Sharing now is easier; go and check it. You can share to several connected accounts at once. Make it even easier is one of karmacracys pending tasks, we will try hard on 2011.

With Facebook and Twitter Connect, we just made a first step.

Configuration

You can set up all your social networks in settings > networks. Now, only facebook and twitter are available, but we will work hard to add new ones in 2011.

This step will give you the ability to choose where you want your kcies to be sent or not, activating them or deactivating them when sharing a kcy.

Next step
We are working now on the second step (a chrome widget to share easier), so we all have much more fun.

But, most important: if you feel that you’re not having so much fun as we are, or as you were before, please, tell us :) we’ll work hard.

El círculo se cierra. Uno de los puntos que incluíamos se hace realidad con esta nueva funcionalidad. Karmacracy se conecta con Twitter y Facebook.

Existen varias razones por las que hemos optado por esta vía:

Simplificar el login
La primera vez que os logeeis en karmacracy vía web os pedirá que incluyáis vuestro usuario y vuestra contraseña. A partir de hoy el login se realizará a través de las redes sociales (Twitter y Facebook). La razón de realizar este cambio es, ganar en simplicidad, uno de los pilares básicos del proyecto.

Mayor integración
Facilitar la inclusión de kcies en las redes sociales de forma sencilla es otra de las asignaturas pendientes en Karmacracy. Con el conncect damos un primer paso.

Configuracion
Con el Connect además de loguearte con Facebook y/o Twitter, también existe la posiblidad de configurar todas las cuentas que tengas en estas dos redes sociales. Para ello, una vez logueado vete a settings > networks y conéctalas.

Este paso te dará la posibilidad de elegir donde envias tus kcies simplemente desactivandolas cuando realices el envio.

Siguiente paso
Ya estamos trabajando en el segundo punto (creación de un widget para chrome) con el fin de que la diversion sea todavía mayor.

Y lo más importante… si dejas de divertirte tanto como lo estamos haciendo nosotros, por favor, dínoslo ;)

Today we reached a thousand users.

In a thousand users, 3 months passed, we have learned a lot, soon the plugins and widgets will be available, and overall we are having fun.

Hello all!

We hope you are having fun with us, as much as we do. We know karmacracy has changed a bit during these three months; we knew it since the beginning, and we wanted to involve you in the process.

1. It all started with a new social way to share links, with a main goal: improve yourself to get into the rank.
2. Second, nuts where developed to make it funnier.
3. Third, clips showed up, with the idea of ranking into domains.
4. And finally, words popped up, so people could get a more clear view about what you talk.

We want to make you know that this is all, these are the rules of the game, and this is all karmacracy is about.

… but, in the next few weeks, karmacracy is getting funnier, and we want to share it with you:

- Making kcies must be easier: We know you think it, and so do we. We have launched three lines of work to achieve this:

• 1) Contact developers of sharing apps: getting into others’ applications is not easy, but we are asking them to try us out, and see if we can be an option for others to short us with. If you can help us in this area, please, let us know!
• 2) Facebook connect and twitter connect: so you can log-in easier.
• 3) Improve our 0.1 firefox and chrome plugins, so you can share easier and faster. We hope to have them in a couple of weeks. 

- Kcy is old enough to visit other lands: kcy has grown up and it is time for him to leave home. Kcy must visit other websites, and help others to share through them. First, we are focusing on blogs. We are willing to try the new revolution of the share buttons in your blog or website.

-> If you have any, and you want us to include you into our private beta, let us know. We will start in a couple of weeks!

- Keep it smooth: while we talk, kcies and clicks are made at a faster rate, and kcy must keep track of all of them. We hate fail whales as much as you do, so we want all to be really smooth. Karmacracy is a profesional tool, and we want to keep it that way.

Ones talk, others listen. Karmacracy Rank (kcyrank) dependes on how much others listen to you. It is as simple as that.

… But, is it the whole story? No: knowing how much others listen to you might be important for you, but not for others.

Others want to know who is the one that talks better, more and who is the more influencer about a topic. If you have a question on something, who should you ask?

Karmacracy was born with that idea in mind. Karmacracy is the democracy of karma. Everybody is important in their own universe, in their own group of words.

Is the number one on karmacracy the most influencer in the world? No, he/she is attracting a lot of people to his/her favorite pages, but other people, who are interested in some other things, might want to find referers of other topics.

With the feature of Words, karmacracy wants to answer two critical questions:

1) What’s the deal about being first in karmacracy? What is it for?

Previously, being first only satisfied yourself, your ego; but once achieved, it didn’t add any new incentive.

Now, being first allows others to find you when they search for something. When you make good quality links, others will know the subject or topics you know about. In short, it will allow others to measure you about a certain topic, and it will allow others to see, at a glance, what you know about and how much you know about it.

2) Are spammers in karmacracy?

To answer this question, we should think about what a spammer is.

Theoretically, a spammer is a person who sends unwanted messages to people. From that point of view, spammers are selfcontrolled in karmacracy: if you send undesired messages, no one will click you; therefore, you won’t be visible in any first position.

Some others agree that spammers are people who send messages with no value at all. From that point of view, some spammers may be in first positions, because some people might be interested in what you think it has no value at all.

Now, with the words feature, now you can decide what is valuable for you, and what is not.

To simplify the process of repeteadly asking what topics are important for you, words can be followed. Following a word allows you to know when the top referer of a word looses his first position, and who the new top referer is. With this feature, mails are sent to you; so you can be warned if you loose a key word for you or your company; or be noticed who’s the most influencer in a topic.

Rembember that you can change the way mails get to you in your settings page.

Finally, we would like to remark that the karmacracy philosophy has been written in a few rules. They can be found in the kcyrank index page.

We have made all of this so you can have fun, so please, have fun. We will.

Today, we reached 757 users.  That was our limit to open the beta, no more karmacode needed. Server stays stable as new users join and have fun. This game is going as planned, but new rules are coming. Stay tuned and have fun! Spread the word!
